Average occult fantasy

THE NINTH GATE is an interesting, but not outstanding film in the occult genre. Fans of Johnny Depp will undoubtedly enjoy it. It is well acted, but the direction leaves something to be desired. Roman Polanski is clearly overrated as a director.
