While Rooney Mara's depiction of a strong, intelligent female character exhibiting autistic spectrum disease or Asperger's syndrome decisively deserved an Academy Award nomination, Daniel Craig was totally miscast, failing to portray the image of a middle-aged journalist. Ms Mara perfectly encapsulated the life of Lisbeth Salander, and unquestionably carried the film.
