Director Martin Scorsese reflects on 20th century New York with the story of frazzled ambulance driver Frank Pierce (Nicholas Cage) as he goes through the motions of saving lives and losing lives in New York City with a series of odd workers, crazies on the streets, and families of loved ones surviving a stroke. John Goodman, Ving Rhames, Tom Sizemore, and Cage's wife Rosanna Arquette shine respectively in what can be described as a lighter, somber reflection from 'Taxi Driver', this is wild hearty drama. Derived from the same title book by author Joe Connelly.
